Aasoo is a media outlet about thought, culture, and society, which aims to promote dialogue, tolerance, and participation in constructive discourses for the progress and advancement of Iran. The name Aasoo is of Kurdish origin and means horizon, and Aasoo’s activists hope that with a far-sighted and humane approach and the presentation of diverse and constructive perspectives, a broader horizon for mutual understanding and empathy among Iranians will be opened.
The Aasoo website is one of the institutions affiliated with the Taslimi Foundation. This foundation is non-profit and is active in various fields, from social and cultural development to education and the environment.
The Taslimi Foundation was established in the name and memory of Abdolhossein Taslimi and his colleagues in the National Assembly of the Baha’is of Iran. This group, which were the elected managers of the Baha’i community of Iran, along with two advisors, were arrested in Tehran on August 20, 1980, by a group that introduced themselves as government agents, and no trace or trace of them has been found since.
